With 12/26 as a day off, I used the day to do some cleaning up and organizing of the Sahuaro Ranch Smithy (see previous post). Tana was with me half the time as part of helping her keep entertained and out of the dust clouds I was making in the shop–I let her have our point-and-shoot Panasonic Lumix FH20 to make photos of whatever interested her.

She’d already spent quite some time making “collections” as you can see by the following arrangements.

In the following set, you will see how the combination of having the mind of a blacksmith’s daughter and the frame of a 5-year-old can yield some very cool perspectives.

Now, for the next self-portrait photos, please understand that I have not taught Tana how to use the timer function on the camera. I can only surmise that she was paying attention while I explained and showed how to do it one time to my wife. The results are very impressive.

I think my favorite is the one of the tractor seat shadow. Is that brilliant or what?
